I love adding to my vintage apron collection. As much as I love making aprons, I love finding vintage ones even more! It's fun to imagine the women who wore these aprons and the circumstances in which they might have worn them. And I'm drawn to the whimsical and sweetness of the fabrics used in these vintage beauties, even though there are gorgeous, fun and funky fabrics widely available today. I suppose it's the nostalgia of a vintage apron(heck, vintage anything)that gets me.
These are two of my more recent vintage apron finds.
This one is even more adorable in person. The print is little clowns/men holding umbrellas and giant raindrops. I love the shades of gray and brown w/the big orange border. SO sweet! And this. Swoon! Cobbler aprons are my favorite style...even though they aren't so figure flattering on me! I don't know why I'm drawn to these more, there's just something a little extra sassy about a cobbler apron!Earlier this week, I scored two more FABULOUS vintage aprons(one is for the fellas). I'll be sharing them next week!
Head over to Coloradolady's blog for more Vintage Thingies Thursday.

The word that comes to mind is PERKY! I bet that's what kind of personality their owners had!
These are so cute! The first one is really a wonderful design and color. I like the red one too, but I tend to not buy these for some reason. I have never seen one made like this pattern around here, the ones I find mostly just have the bib fronts.
Great Post! Vintage aprons are so wonderful.
Have a great VTT!
These are BOTH beautiful aprons. I love the "swirl" of the skirt with the orange flair on that first one. And the second is divine in every way. Nope, I don't think I could wear it these days either - - - maybe back when I was 21.
Definately great items from the past! My how things change! Happy VTT to you!
The top one really has personality.
What sweet aprons! I have my Grandma's apron, but I would be just devastated if I wore it and got a stain on it! Which is silly, because, hello, that's what it's for!
Love old aprons.
thanks for sharing.

I love aprons. When I was young women did wear them. Yours I picture Lucille Ball in for some odd reason!

I love old aprons. I do artwork and used them all the time. Those are so pretty I would only use them in the kitchen. :) ~Theresa
The scalloped orange border on the first one is su-weet!
What a fun post. i love the whimsy of vintage aprons. Because most women made their own the variety is almost endless and the creativity is delightful. Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind comment about my clothespin photos. I have only been taking pictures for about 4 months now, but I think I am getting better. Thanks for your support.

I nevah...evah...enter a kitchen without an apron on!
I'm so darn sloppy while cooking.
These are truly...some terrific aprons!
