Vintage Thingies Thursday -- Vintage Sewing Patterns

I thought I'd share some adorabe craft patterns with y'all today for my vintage thingies. Most of these are from the 70's, so I hope I'm not cheating by calling them "vintage". But dang, they are cute!

I don't know that I'll ever make any of these...but I had to have them!

This summer, I went into a tiny shop in Prague where a sweet lady who didn't speak a lick of English(why should she?) sold toys that she had made by hand. Many of them remind me of these three little guys.I love love love the little owl pillow in this pattern. This one just tickled me when I saw it. I don't know which is cuter, the hippo in his jaunty red cap or the croc wearing glasses! And today I made a quick stop in our local Salvation Army store and picked up several vintage patterns for .29 each. Among them this pelican. It helps the kiddos learn to count! The cutest! And I was pleasantly surprised to find a fish that had been tucked away in the pattern.
For more vintage thingies, head over to The Apron Queen's place.

These are great! I've made a few toys and teddy bears, now I'm going to keep a lookout for vintage patterns. I like the hippo in the tutu.

Softies!!! Those are super! They're all the rage now too. I can't wait to see your finished products now. Bubby's little girlfriend draws all kinds of animae and she drew this great, simple cat that I'd love to make up today. I just had it blown way up to a workable size today and it's gonna be just peachy keen *S* He's gonna give it to her for Christmas he says. Thanks for sharing your treasures, that was FUN!

Hi Kellie,
These are such fun patterns even if you never get around to making them. But! I think you should try making that fabulous OWL! So darn cute...

Great stuff! I remember seeing sewing patterns around in the shops when I was growing up in the 70's. Are you going to make any of them?

I used to sew a lot and I bought lots of patterns. I loved looking at the pattern books. I haven't looked at one in ages. Last time I looked I was amazed at the prices. I still have some of the patterns but I got rid of most of them years ago. Should have kept all of them. They'd sure be vintage now.
Hugs,
Charlotte

Those are so cute, especially the hippo in a tutu! Your post made me remember that I once sewed a camel that could be used as a kiddies seat for my brother's kids. Thanks for the memories!

You're right! Those are just too cute! And yes, I think 1970s counts as vintage. (Sad as it seems! LOL!)
